Yes, Mississippi, is unique also. You have the birthplace of Elvis at Tupelo, then West Memphis, Mississippi is part of the city of Memphis, TN. A lot of Blues & Jazz clubs, Beale Street, home of BB King and the blues. Of course, we have gambling on the Mississippi river, which runs all the way thru the state. The Choctaw Indians have casinos on thier tribal lands in central Mississippi. Then you have Buloxi down on the gulf, what's left of it after the hurricanes and oil-spill. The beaches in Mississippi are not as pretty as Alabama. Mississippi used to be the poorest state in the union but the gambling revenue has helped that but you still have alot of rural land and people. I like the casino's and have been many times, all over the state. When I have a chance to go now, we go to Tunica, it's about an hour's drive outside Memphis. It is a 5 hour drive for us, we flew one time and it took 4 hours! We were only in the air for 20 minutes, the rest of it was waiting at the airport!

Yes, the 48 contintental US states are vast, alot of states have very different lifestyles, the north differs from the south. The 'wild west" is like none other. Then we have the Gulf of Mexico, the Cajuns in New Orleans, Nevada, which I believe is the ugliest land ever plus it's too hot. I could go on and on. Alabama is weird too, we have mountains in the north and then the land flattens out and goes all the way to the Gulf and we have beautiful beaches (pre-BP Oil Spill!) So many customs that immigrants brougth with them from thier Motherland. I could ramble on and on. I guess it sounds like I am proud of our USA but right now i am very disappointed in the people we chose to handle our government and programs. i'm sure you've heard of him...Obama.

1.5 hours drive from Seattle and west of that - across the Puget Sound (the other side of the sound) - 45 minutes from Olympia or Tacoma or Bremerton area. Shelton is 10 miles away - a small logging community. Shelton is considered the gateway to the Olympic National Forest. Very beautiful area. I have miles and miles of tree farms around me.

Is it usually that temperature? Is that cool or warm? I'm not very smart when it comes to geography. You are on Celsuis, too? We are on Farenheight, here. It's about 40 now.

Hey...you folks in the UK are on Celsuis...where 0 is 32 here!!! You make it sound colder than it is...LOL...-10 to you is like 24 to the USA and it got down to 28 last night here in Alabama but we rarely get snow, only rain and it is damp and raining now. Ahhh...I long to be in FL with Worldwalker or at least on the Gulf here in Alabama. There is a bit temperature difference between North Alabama and South Alabama, down on the beaches. Everyone bundle up and stay warm. Bear hugs to all!
